Cumberland Councillor Stephen Blais is pleased to announce that Wilfred Murray Park in Cumberland Village is set for a $240,000 replacement in 2014.

“This is great news for children in Cumberland,” says Blais. “This investment in Wilfred Murray Park will upgrade the playground and make it more accessible for children and their parents alike.”

In Budget 2014, $241,000 has been allocated for the renewal of Wilfred Murray Park. The renewal of the park will include the first artificial rubberized playing surface in the east end.

“Parks have been a top priority of mine since being elected,” adds Blais. “By the end of 2014 we will have built 8 new parks in Cumberland Ward, fully replaced 2 and invested over $2 million in upgrades to existing parks – this represents a total investment of nearly $10 million in parks in Cumberland Ward.”
